LRE’s Guide to Town & Brant Point

Historic downtown Nantucket is different from anywhere in the world. This is located at the heart of the island filled with cobblestone streets, grey-shingled local shops and breathtaking water views of the harbor. In the summer you can always find the streets packed with shoppers, dinners and travelers as it conveniently houses all boats that leave from the harbor. Brant Point is home to one of our amazing lighthouses and has some of the most stunning homes. There is nothing that can beat the stunning harbor views.

What To Do

Shopping is a great part of town because there is such a wide variety of options. From clothing to jewelry to art to a souvenir to bring home.

Dreamland Theater used to be located in town but since the pandemic began they have now been able to bring a drive-in to Nantucket. Head out to the Nobadeer Fields and catch any of their nightly showings of all the best movies.

White Heron Theater is usually the place to go for all the best shows but since the pandemic they have now started a podcast series called Radio Theater that you can catch on their website.

Nantucket Whaling Museum is now open to tour our amazing island history. It is a great experience at any age. The museum is home to a 46-foot sperm whale skeleton, a restored 1847 candle factory and a fully-accessible rooftop deck offers stunning views of Nantucket harbor.

Children’s Beach is the best beach for small children as it features a playground, open field and snack bar.

Where To Eat

167 Raw is a fresh seafood market that offers some of the best fish around, beer and wine, and various grocery items to get all those beach essentials.

Bartlett Farm is the largest family-owned farm on the Island. They offer fresh produce, groceries and prepared food. In the height of the season you can also do your own strawberry picking. It is a spot that should not be missed.

Miacomet Golf Club has just reopened after a devastating fire and now has a great snack bar and dining room.
