The Theatre Workshop of Nantucket (TWN) is a public theatre with a goal of enriching the local community. By collaborating with other organizations and working with members of the local community as well as visiting artists, TWN produces a variety of theatrical works all year long. Theatre Workshop, since its founding in 1956, has created jobs and focused on supporting local merchants. Additionally, TWN continues to provide entertainment that helps sustain Nantucket’s historic downtown. The mission of the Theatre Workshop of Nantucket is to inspire performing artists and audiences of all ages.
Throughout the year, TWN puts on a variety of productions, utilizing a cast from both on and off island to bring the stage to life. From childhood favorites and family friendly plays to dramas and broadway-style musicals, TWN has a production for everyone! For those that live on Nantucket full-time, or those brave enough to visit in the off-season, you are in luck. Theatre Workshop of Nantucket brings culture and art to the island all year long. In addition to putting on great performances, TWN also hosts workshops throughout the year. These workshops are part of their mission to teach and inspire the community about the performing arts.
While there are no performances scheduled this month at TWN, islanders are eagerly awaiting the highly anticipated Matilda, which runs from November 22nd to December 14th. Tickets are currently on sale here. If you are visiting Nantucket for Christmas Stroll, treat yourself to an evening at the theatre for this fun production.
