Events This Weekend: 1/17-1/20

Coming up this weekend is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, meaning we’ve got an extra day for island activities! January on Nantucket means we’ve got some time to live a little slower, enjoy some downtime, and maybe try a few new things in the spirit of a New Year. Coming up this weekend are some events that offer a little creativity, some entertainment, and a touch of community service to round out your weekend. Looking for something else? Check out the Mahon About Town and Chamber of Commerce events calendars for a full listing of this weekend’s events!

Friday, January 17th

Start the weekend off right with a night of entertainment at the Chicken Box, brought to you by local comedian Brian Glowacki! This time he’ll be joined on stage by Jimmy Cash and Harrison Stebbins. We couldn’t think of a better way to spend a Friday night.MLK Weekend Events

Monday, January 20th

Start your MLK Jr. Day with one last delicious Downyflake breakfast before they close for their Winter break. Bonus: All proceeds from dining room sales will be donated to the Marla Ceely Lamb Cancer Travel Fund! What’s better than a famous Downyflake donut on a holiday Monday?!

To close out your holiday weekend, the ACK Clean Team is holding a special event to clean the shoreline of the iconic Sesachacha Pond, per request by the Audobon Sanctuary Director of Nantucket. We are so lucky to have a community that is passionate about keeping our island clean; join the team from 9-10am for a morning clean before enjoying the rest of your day off!
