From local farm stands and growers to non-profit organizations and local artists, this market is the perfect place to do some early Christmas shopping, learn about local Nantucket organizations, and gather some ingredients for a delicious feast! Most importantly, you’ll find the Sustainable Nantucket table at this event where you can learn more about this wonderful organization and all the work they do to raise awareness about local food.
Saturday October 12th | 11am to 2pm | Sankaty Lighthouse in Sconset
Always wondered what the view was like from the top of Sankaty Lighthouse? Well, here’s your opportunity to see for yourself! The lighthouse will be open for tours with The Sconset Trust on Saturday from 11am to 2pm, where you can climb up and enjoy the sweeping views of the Atlantic and the eastern end of the island. Children must be at least 6 years old to go to the top and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Bring your walking shoes, there are a lot of stairs! Admission into the lighthouse is free.
Saturday October 12th | 4pm | Dreamland Theater
Get your popcorn and find a seat for a great night of films at the Dreamland Theater! Short movie makers ranging from amateurs to professionals have been working hard on their short films (2 to 12 minutes) all summer long and are ready to present their work to you. The committee has picked the best of the best from all the submissions and the winners will be shown on the big screen in the main theater. Tickers are required and can be purchased here.
SUNDAY OCTOBER 13th
Sunday October 13th | 8am
After enjoying all those cranberry treats yesterday, it is time for a quick jog around the neighborhood! The 9th annual Nantucket Half Marathon kicks off at 8am on Fairgrounds Road. The race course travels 13.1 miles through dirt and sandy roads, quiet bike baths and lightly traveled streets with views of the ocean. Not interested in running? Cheer on the runners as they cross the finish line!
Sunday October 13th | Madaket to Sconset
Calling all dog (and animal) lovers … get your walking shoes ready, because there is a 23 kilometer walk from Madaket to Sconset on Sunday to raise money and awareness of all the great things that NiSHA does for our island animals. Lee Real Estate’s very own Kiri Mullen, will be participating so give her a wave as she traverses the island!
Sunday October 13th | 11am to 4pm | Milestone Cranberry Bogs (220 Milestone Road)
The Nantucket Cranberry Festival is Nantucket’s favorite family fall event because there are activities for the entire family to enjoy. Travel to the cranberry bogs on Milestone Road where you’ll learn about the history of cranberry farming on the island and get the chance to give harvesting your own cranberries a try. In addition to the history lesson, you’ll be able to play family games, take tours of the bogs with the Nantucket Conservation Foundation, try a variety of foods from island vendors, and enjoy live music and beautiful fall scenery. In short, this event is not to be missed! Admission to the festival is free. Parking is $20 per car.

Monday October 14th | 11am to 6pm | CRU Restaurant
One of LRE’s favorites is packing up for the season, but not before they throw a little party first. This year’s theme is 007, so find your best James Bond outfit and head down the wharf for the last oysters and CRUcombers of the season!
Monday October 14th | 5:30pm to when Summer Wind plays | straight wharf restaurant
Close out the holiday weekend down on the Wharf with the iconic 86SWR closing party. Straight Wharf Restaurant is wrapping up its 44th season on the Wharf. How do they celebrate? And to top it all off, you just might catch a glimpse of Lee Real Estate’s own, Peter Engen, behind the bar!
