Bruce Beni

Broker | Rental Agent

Bruce Beni is one of Nantucket’s most respected and accomplished real estate professionals- an industry leader whose influence spans publishing, community stewardship, and over twenty-five years of island real estate expertise, with a career sales volume exceeding $1 billion.

Raised in the New York City suburbs, Bruce fell in love with Nantucket at just five years old- a connection that would ultimately shape his life and career. After graduating from Union College, he moved to Manhattan and embarked on what became a distinguished fifteen-year publishing career. During his tenure at the Hearst Corporation, Bruce contributed to leading titles including Cosmopolitan and Good Housekeeping, and held management roles at Architectural Digest and other respected publications. His entrepreneurial spirit later inspired him to found Medizine, a nationally distributed consumer healthcare publication that grew into a trusted fixture in pharmacies across the country.

In 1999, Bruce moved to Nantucket full-time and soon channeled his marketing and business acumen into real estate. Over the next fifteen years, he established himself as a broker known for unmatched attention to detail, strategic insight, and fierce negotiating skills- earning a reputation for consistently delivering exceptional results across all price points.

Bruce joined Lee Real Estate in 2016, bringing with him a proven track record of success and a deep, intuitive understanding of the island’s market. His clients rely on his seasoned guidance, market intelligence, and unwavering commitment to helping them achieve their Nantucket homeownership goals.

In 2020, Bruce partnered with Peter Engen, forming one of the island’s most successful real estate teams. In just five years, they have eclipsed $500 million in career sales, representing many of Nantucket’s most significant transactions. Their achievements include the $36M sale of 21 Lincoln Avenue (2022) and the record-breaking $44M sale of 68 & 72 Monomoy Road (2023)- two of the last three Massachusetts state-record sales. These milestone transactions have been featured in national media outlets including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, The New York Times, and The Boston Globe.

A visionary marketer, Bruce also returned to his publishing roots in 2004 to help launch and brand Nantucket Home, the official magazine of the local real estate association- now a hallmark publication on the island.

Beyond his professional achievements, Bruce is recognized as a dedicated community leader. His passion for the island’s marine ecosystem inspired his service as Co-President of the Nantucket Shellfish Association, where he works to “protect and preserve the waters of Nantucket.” He previously served seven years as President of the Artists Association of Nantucket, remaining an active and influential member. Bruce also played a meaningful advisory role in the early planning and design of the new Nantucket Cottage Hospital, and more recently contributed his insight to ReMain Nantucket’s Envision Resilience initiative, helping the island confront the critical challenges of sea-level rise.

A lifelong outdoorsman, Bruce spends his free time cycling, fishing, and playing racket sports- pursuits that mirror the discipline, energy, and passion he brings to every client relationship.
