Property Taxes on Nantucket

Tax season is here and while you’re figuring out what needs to be sent where, and which page to sign, take a look at Nantucket’s property tax rates. The tax rates for the island for 2021 were published in February. They are calculated on a per $1,000 of total assessed value. For example, for a single family residential property assessed at $1,000,000, the total tax due would be $3,630.

Residential: $3.63 x $1,000

Open Land: $3.43 x $1,000

Commercial: $6.20 x $1,000

Assessments have also been updated in the Appraisal Vision Database for the 2021 Fiscal Year billing cycle.

Fiscal Year 2021 Due Dates

The fiscal year 2021 is from July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2021. Click here to pay your Nantucket property tax bill online.

First Quarter: Issued July 1, 2020; due August 1, 2020

Second Quarter: Issued October 1, 2020; due November 2, 2020

Third Quarter: Issued January 8, 2021; due February 3, 2021

Fourth Quarter: Issued April 1, 2021; due May 3, 2021
